Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless.
What if we changed the words we say to ourselves? Our self talk can be harsh and discouraging at times. We say things to ourselves we would never say to anyone else, “your’re stupid”, “you can’t do this”, “I’m embarrassing myself” “I’m no good at anything I do”. When we become aware of the words we’re speaking to ourselves, could we change them to uplifting words and words of kindness? How difficult is it to change the way we think and change what we say to ourselves? Instead, maybe we should try saying things like, “I have amazing potential”, “I CAN do this”, “It’s okay for me to feel this way”, etc.
Change… it happens all around us. Each day brings new challenges and new blessings. The world around us changes, mountains shake, waters roar, rain falls, sun shines, time ticks away and we are left here in this moment. Today, this exact moment you are reading this is the only time you have, so enjoy today. If you are feeling stressed, try to change your thinking and focus on blessings not troubles. Try to imagine yourself succeeding. Do not let someone else’s ill conceived words steal your moment. Don’t allow the words and actions of others dictate how you should feel and love and live. You choose! Fill your moments with loving thoughts and know that you will be filled with Gods grace and he will give you the strength to carry on. Also try to be encouraging and speak kind words to others, your voice will echo and the kindness will return to you one hundred fold.
Now go out there and take on your challenges, you’ve got this! And … Be kind to yourself along the way.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling. Psalm 46:1-3
